Description
Cell Line Information:
Designations: NCI-H1299
Organism: Homo sapiens (human)
Tissue: lung carcinoma; non-small cell lung cancer; derived from metastatic site: lymph node
Age: 43 years
Gender: male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Morphology: epithelial
Growth properties: adherent
Products: neuromedin B (NMB)
Depositors: A.F. Gazdar; J.D. Minna
This line was derived by A.F. Gazdar, H.K. Oie, J.D. Minna and associates from a lymph node metastasis. The cells have a homozygous partial deletion of the p53 protein, and lack expression of p53 protein. The cells are able to synthesize the peptide NMB at 0.1 pmol/mg protein, but not the gastrin releasing peptide (GRP).
